Are there any pictures/photos available showing these "turtle suits"? I can hardly imagine how they look like.

Unfortunately I was not able to find a photo of the actual suits used at this prison. Turtle suits are also referred to as pickle suits. When working correctly they do not expose body parts, but apparently the ones at this prison were so old and worn that the velcro no longer held them in place. And the velcro is all there is to hold things together. As you see from the photo in this link, it is not unusual for prisoners to appear in court in this type of suit.
