Microsoft Word Help

Post by gary »

I've tried looking for the solution online but no luck. I don't know if anyone here can help but I'm at whits end. I don't know what I touched but all of a sudden ALL my Word documents have a large space at the beginning and end of each page, and the pages look like they are smaller. My computer only few years old so the Word Version is recent. Thank you for any help you can give.

I am not a MS Office expert, but this sounds to me as if the page format is wrong. Maybe you had "A4" previously, now it has changed to "US Letter", or vice versa? Such things have happened in the past, for example there may be a bug in a Microsoft update.
Look for changes in your default template document.

I've been wondering if I accidentally typed in a shortcut, I was working on my Heartland story and had copy-pasted from a website I had used before and I was adjusting what I had pasted when all of a sudden these large multi-line spaces appeared at the top and bottom of each page. At first there was were also the letters "HU" (I think) at the end of each page which I couldn't delete, which after fiddling with things, disappeared.
As I said it somehow has effected ALL my other documents. Using Narrow Margins has helped but still have spaces, just smaller.
If you can, give direction on what to do, if possible.

Gary,
I don't want to be too optimistic, but maybe this link can help you:

(As said above, my theory is that your Normal template got distorted in some way you did not intend.)

Go under the VIEW tab and see if you are viewing it print layout versus outline format.

Or look to see if the header or footer sections are active.
