A fan of stripsearch, but not a fan of Joe Doe / C Lakewood

Post by johncbb »

Anyone else on here *not* enjoy the Joe Doe universe / Lakewood-style of strip search stories? In such stories the women/victims tend to react with excitement/anger as opposed to, at least what I believe would be more honest reactions, such as worry, uncertainty, fear, deer-in-headlights, uncomfortable, mortification, etc. Additionally the bystanders in the Joe Doe universe tend to be smiling or laughing, as opposed to looking away (of course a few would not look away ; ) ).

I love the genre, but part of my love for the genre includes the realistic humiliation / behavior of the victims involved. For example, Dreama Walker's portrayol of the McDonalds employee in Compliance, or stories such as "Mom Gets Strip Searched" on Literotica.

Anyway, I know traditionally this group focused on the more fictitious styles of story telling. 'just wanted to make this thread to reach out those who may additionally enjoy a more realistic portrayal of human emotions and reactions.

For those who do, what stories (fiction / non-fiction) / mainstream scenes / porn scenes, are some of your favorites?

Each to their own. I've always liked the fun, over-the-top aspect of the Doeverse and my own stories are similar. But I do enjoy a more serious style if it's well done. No harm in having some variety here, so post away!

I'm with Steve on this, I like both. I'm a huge fan of Joe Doe and I loved the Cole stories, but if I were to create top 25 stories list, there would be several 'George VI' (author of "Mom Gets Strip Searched") on that list.

I really like stories that are based, at least loosely, on real life events. I thought the McDonald's 'so-called strip-search scam' was a missed opportunity for writers of this genre. I only found one story based on this 'scam' and it was not at this group (and by this group I mean Yahoo SS1-SS6 and original group at Lycos). The movie was actually based on the Louis Osborn story, which happened at a Mickey D's in Kentucky. But the alleged perpetrator (who was amazingly found not guilty) attempted this scam dozens of times throughout the country. And was successful with many of those attempts. In one such successful incident, a male and female manager, forced a fully nude female employee to do jumping jacks. Adding to the humiliation this activity could viewed by employees within the restaurant and by customers in the drive-thru lane, if they happened to turn and look at the right time.

It's a fascinating example of how people will comply with a (presumed) authority figure. Osborne complied with her manager - who was in turn, complying with a voice on the phone, simply because the voice claimed to be a cop.

Next time you're wondering how people can commit atrocities simply because "they were ordered to", remember that most of those people could at least point to an established authority (and have a well-founded fear of consequence if they didn't obey). Osborne's manager simply did what he was told by a random voice, even though anyone with half a brain should have realised that there was something fishy going on - and that what he was ordering Osborne to do was clearly illegal.

Indeed, I can't help but get turned on when I read about these incidents. Would be wonderful to discover an author who writes stories inspired by them.

I like Joe Doe and I've written a few stories set in Doeville.

Lakewood is another matter; a bombastic, pedantic, bullying man who always put down much better writers than himself (particularly my heroine Katie Smith who could knock spots of him.)

I'm a very picky reader and I don't think there is any author whose writing I like 100% of the time.

I've read stories by both these authors that I have liked, but I have also read plenty that I didn't like.

I don't know if that helps much.
